The strength of the Red Court surface lies in its clay-colored carpet with an untreated ceramic top layer. The use of this carpet creates a very stable and level surface. Thanks to the ceramic top layer, players can move and slide effortlessly.
The structure of this complex surface offers all the characteristics of a 21st-century clay court. The Red Court is built on a synthetic grass base, made of 100% UV-resistant polypropylene, weighted with ceramic sand. The clay-colored surface is infused into the core at a very high temperature.
This surface guarantees consistent playing quality regardless of the season: grip, flexibility, slide, and regular ball bounce.
The boundary lines are clearly visible. When the ball bounces on them, a slight sound is produced, enhancing the accuracy of the game and its officiating.
The construction and materials of the Red Court provide a permeable surface, mainly because the Red Court is not compacted. Weather has little impact on this surface, as the filling material used in Red Court is inert.

The Red Court is installed directly on a stable base, preferably a draining asphalt or a layer of absorbent material (exclusive to Maton Sports). The use of the absorbent material is preferred for its water retention and support qualities, preventing the court from drying out and deteriorating.
The synthetic carpet is then weighted with silica sand and covered with untreated colored ceramic sand. Available colors: red or green.
Red Court surfaces require minimal maintenance. The major advantage of this surface, compared to traditional clay court, is that it requires no watering. Weather conditions have no effect on the Red Court, allowing for year-round play and reducing surface maintenance.
Spring : cleaning of the court, add ceramic sand if necessary, every 4-5 years make a big maintenace by cleaning inside the carpet.
Regular maintenance : brush the court using a broom 2m, brush the lines to make them visible.
Winter : moss treatment.
For an even distribution of the ceramic sand and a quality surface, it is important to use the drag mat after each use of the court.
It is important to follow the direction of passage prescribed by Maton Sports to avoid pushing the sand off the court and instead bring it back towards the center.
