In France and Belgium, the construction of clay courts has been declining in recent years. The reasons are understandable: a short season, meticulous and costly maintenance every spring, courts often out of service for hours after heavy rain, and, in some regions, a considerable amount of water needed for irrigation. To enable a new growth in the construction of clay courts, it was necessary to address the issues associated with traditionally built courts.

The TOP CLAY® tennis surface has been specially designed to withstand intensive outdoor use year-round, even in unfavorable weather conditions. The unique TOP CLAY® technology creates a uniform, homogeneous, and attractive hybrid clay tennis court that, unlike traditional clay courts, prevents holes and cracks in the surface.
Spring : cleaning of the court, decompact the base using high-pressure techniques in a specific manner.
Regular mainteance : Moisten the court twice a week if needed, and replenish with special Top Clay® claydepending on usage.
Winter: moss treatment.
For an even distribution of the clayand a quality surface, it is important to use drag net after each use of the court.
It is important to follow the direction of passage prescribed by Maton Sports to avoid pushing the clay off the court and instead bring it back towards the center.
